According to reports, two leading Black-owned investment firms; The Williams Capital Group LP and Diebert Cisneros Shank & Co. LLC has signed a merger that will create the largest minority and women-owned financial firm in the United States.The Williams Capital Group was established in 1994 by the CEO, Christopher J. Williams. Christopher is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of Howard University. Since the launch of the full investment service company, it has maintained top positions in tax-exempt securities and taxable securities – with an array of awards to show for the tremendous work they do in the financial industry. The company has over 65 businesses on their customer base roll call. On the other hand, Siebert Cisneros Shank & Co. LLC was launched in 1996 by the head of the company Suzanne Shank. Suzanne is a native of Georgia, and she is recognized as the only black woman to run a firm in the financial district of New York. The company has catered for over 200 financings as their lead manager. This translates to a worth of $30 billion.The newly established firm will bear the name Siebert Williams Shank & Co., and it will be run by Shank, while Williams will serve as the chairman. Also, Henry Cisneros (a former United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development) will handle the post of vice president. The company will have offices in New York, Oakland, and other cities around the Country.Williams and Shank believe that the merger will make them better than any other firm in the industry and deliver better superior services to their customers.The merger process is scheduled to be completed officially by January 2020.
