UNiCOMM Conference Addresses Creating Authentic Personal Brands

Baltimore, MD, May 22, 2013 –(PR.com)– Since the internet is becoming the main source of information gathering for potential employers and customers, an online image is now the first impression. More than 1,000 students, professionals and entrepreneurs are expected to attend UNiCOMM 2013 (www.unicommsummit.com), scheduled for Saturday, October 5th at the Baltimore Convention Center. The theme, Discovering and Branding the Authentic Me, features a day of dynamic speakers covering personal branding in entrepreneurship and career development. Attendees will learn innovative, forward-thinking occupational or business strategies to take their personal brand to the next level, understand how to optimize social media as part of a personal branding strategy and discover the most recent trends for workforce and business.

In addition to nine (9) breakout sessions, the conference will also feature a keynote address by Dan Schawbel, national author and personal branding expert. Schawbel is the Managing Partner of Millennial Branding, a Gen Y research and consulting firm. He is the author of the #1 international bestselling book, Me 2.0: 4 Steps to Building Your Future, now in 13 languages. His second book, Promote Yourself: The New Rules For Career Success, will be released in September 2013 by St. Martin’s Press. Dan is a columnist at both TIME and FORBES, and has been featured in over 1,000 media outlets. Dan was named to the Inc. Magazine 30 Under 30 List in 2010, the Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 List in 2012 and BusinessWeek cites him as someone entrepreneurs should follow on Twitter.

Andrea Garris Jackson, Principal of DPN Group, LLC, is the conference founder, a military veteran and fourth generation entrepreneur. Jackson best describes this year’s conference in this manner, “UNiCOMM 2013 focuses on personal branding, entrepreneurship and career development to educate participants in corporate trends through social media”.
