Stop the Social Media Time Sink with the LikeHack

Stop the Social Media Time Sink with the LikeHack Boston, MA, May 14, 2013 –(PR.com)– LikeHack.com, Russia based tech startup, founded in September 2012 and funded by Altair Capital Management and a Moscow seed fund, launched a new app last week that combines the personal content curation service, that filter your social feeds, and personal search engine, that searches the links and full text of all the content you saw, liked or shared with connected accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, RSS).

LikeHack will save a minimum of one hour a day for active information consumers and social media users.

Based on analysis of the nearly three million social accounts (early adopters, their friends and friends of friends) to which likehack’s team has access, a typical, active information consumer and social user receives 284 shared content links daily and twice that number of clutter links, such as check-ins, lolcats and Instagram photos. They spend 2 hours each day scrolling their feeds in order to find 10 worthwhile links.

Jane Smorodnikova and Michael Kechinov, LikeHack’s visionary founders, stated the goal is to save active users as much as one month a year by providing a tool that produces the best content from social feeds faster and easier.

“As an entrepreneur and active investor tracking trends and the startup ecology is critical; I recognized the need and came up with the idea after my third attempt to use Google Reader,” says Jane. “I was looking at 3456 unread posts from all the startup blogs I’ve collected and felt I would never be able to scroll, let alone read, them; I just couldn’t afford to lose that much time.

“Additionally, I can’t stop scrolling Facebook and Twitter, where I constantly find useful links among all clutter and Instagram photos. I felt there just had to be a better way to stay in touch with my industry and still be productive; the result is LikeHack.”

LikeHack does hard work with curating the content from Facebook, Twitter and your favorite blogs.

Unlike other content curation and recommendation services that add new content to the existing information flow, LikeHack appeals to users who want a more targeted content flow and less content volume.

What LikeHack does:

– Aggregates all content, eliminating clutter, lolcats, Instagram photos and status updates.

– Curates incoming information flow using principles with a specially selected group of personal content curators—real people who like the same links from the same sites— and using the total content history that the user ever liked, tweeted or shared. The result is the user sees only the 20% of daily feed content that is actually worth reading.

– Allows personally created filters to further control content.

– Delivers this content via web app, WordPress plug-in, Chrome extension or e-mail, with a mobile app coming soon.

The personal search factor allows you to search both the links and full text of all content seen, tweeted, liked or shared with connected accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and RSS).

Summify, a startup with a similar value proposition was recently acquired by Twitter.

Want More business, Give more Money

This may not make a bit of sense to you but I know for a fact that if you want more you have to give more. We often hoard what we make for fear that it my not come again for a long time and being in business can be feast or famine no matter how well you do but the universe has a way or rewarding you when you unselfishly give WITHOUT THE INTENT of getting it back. That's where most people screw up. They do it thinking they will be repaid for their good deed. [...]
