Connyct, a new mobile short-form video app focused on building communities, has teamed up with Warner Music Group (WMG) to bring major-label music clips to its users ahead of its official launch. This partnership is set to enhance the content creation experience, allowing users to integrate music from WMG’s extensive catalog into their videos.
Unlike conventional social media platforms that focus on passive content consumption, Connyct (pronounced “kuh-nekt”) is designed to foster meaningful connections and unite people both online and offline. The app is exclusively available to college students, requiring a .edu email address to join. It provides a unique digital space where students can create and share videos, interact with peers, plan events, and blend their online interactions with real-world activities.
At the heart of Connyct’s platform is its innovative Events Center, which is powered by video and integrates licensed music clips. Whether users are hosting a party or attending one, they can create videos featuring their favorite songs, building excitement and sharing the vibe with their friends.
Matthew Berman, CEO and Co-Founder of Connyct, said, “We built Connyct to bring joy and excitement to real-life experiences. It’s a digital reflection of your best moments. Our partnership with WMG allows students to enhance those experiences by soundtracking their lives with incredible music.”
Rachel Scarpati, Vice President of Digital Strategy & Business Development at Warner Music Group, added, “Music plays a pivotal role in the college experience, and we want to ensure our artists’ music reaches fans wherever they are. Connyct’s platform offers a new and exciting way to merge music with community, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”
David Polinsky, Connyct’s Chairman and Founder, emphasized that Connyct prioritizes user safety, privacy, and authenticity. “Connyct is more than just a hub for music-loving creators. It’s a purpose-built platform that gives users control over their content and privacy, with no data selling or sharing,” he said.
Connyct is set to launch soon, initially at select universities. The app will be available for download on the iOS App Store. Students can visit Connyct.com to join the waitlist and be among the first to experience this new way of connecting.
