The Certified 401(k) Professional designation is awarded by The Retirement Advisor University in collaboration with UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Education to financial professionals who complete a rigorous curriculum of more than 50 courses, a proctored examination, write a case study detailing real examples of how they are utilizing knowledge from these courses, and attend an intensive multi-day classroom training at UCLA Anderson in Los Angeles.

To attain the C(k)P takes approximately 12-24 months and includes on-campus sessions at UCLA Anderson Executive Education, online courses, mentoring, completion of numerous tests, extensive exams and submission of a case study demonstrating the application of knowledge learned. The three levels of training include four areas of study: Technical Competence, Optimizing Plan Outcomes, Management Business, and Sales Marketing. Equally as important, to carry a C(k) P designation, advisors must have 10 Defined Contribution Plans, $30 million in plan assets and 3 years’ experience.
