This year, the Association is featuring George Hedley at their annual membership luncheon held on the first day of the conference.

Hedley, an entrepreneur, bestselling author, and business owner has ties to the self-storage industry through his development activities. In 1977 George Hedley founded and built his company taking it from $0 to $50 million dollars in revenue in just seven years. To date, he has built or developed over 250 projects with more than a dozen self storage projects in the mix.

Specifically, your self-storage business won’t grow without focusing on finding and keeping customers to generate more profitable revenue. He will identify the reasons companies get stuck and stop growing, and what can be done to take your business to the next level. Topics and ideas presented will include setting your facility apart from the competition, customer loyalty programs, referrals, community involvement, marketing outreach, website conversion tactics, and special offers.

In addition, the conference features four separate tracks, several how-to tech talks and plenty of networking opportunities throughout the event. Education sessions start on Monday, October 28 and will address emerging trends, technology issues, operations and management, sales and marketing. The lineup of speakers and special presentations has been selected to provide information to those new to the industry as well as veteran operators. A trade show is part of the conference and features a variety of leading industry providers and suppliers. The trade show is open to the general public on Tuesday, October 29 from noon to 4:00 p.m. for a nominal fee.

Those interested in attending the conference may register online at www.txssa.org or by calling (888) 259-4902. Anyone interested may attend all or part of the conference. Complete session descriptions and schedule of events are available on the Association’s website.
