Atom Willis Doubles Donations Throughout March in Support of National Multiple Sclerosis Month

Published on

Austin, TX, February 27, 2013 –(PR.com)– Atom Willis is excited to announce that the brand is doubling the amount of their donations to $100 per jacket sold on their website to The Brass Family Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis during the month of March in support of National Multiple Sclerosis Month.

The Atom Willis line is run by designer Adam Mattingly and Head of Sales and Development, Jojo Macias. They believe that the current political situation today forces Americans to fund a perpetual war in the name of defense while disease research goes largely unfunded. At this time, it is seemingly only through private funds that research and development on Multiple Sclerosis continues. Unwilling to accept this as status quo, Mattingly and Macias hope to promote social change in support of MS research through their march on the state capitol of Texas, their creative videos pushing for a “Modern Day Hippie” revolution, by educating the public on the lack of government support, and by donating $50 from the sale of every Atom Willis jacket to The Brass Family Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis. This furthers their hopes that a cure will one day be found.

“We are extremely excited to double our donations in support of MS to $100 per jacket during National Multiple Sclerosis Month in March,” says Macias, “and our hometown retailer, Estilo, has offered to put our jackets in their front window along with signage to inform the public of National MS Month.”

The line itself is a highly detailed line of lambskin leather jackets for men created by designer, Adam Mattingly. After being unable to find the “perfect leather jacket” Mattingly decided to design his own. The Atom Willis collection features three core styles: the Punched in black and white, the Black Washed, and the Camel Bomber. Each jacket comes with a detachable grey hoodie and a button-in/button-out blue pinstripe rabbit fur vest. In addition, every jacket has an embossed nickel plate inside with a serial number unique to that jacket – if ever lost, it can be returned to the Atom Willis office, which will locate the owner.

Atom Willis was created because my sister is living with multiple sclerosis. When you are literally in a race against the clock, you learn to shout. With March being National Multiple Sclerosis Month this is our time to speak out, it is time to challenge the government to spend billions on saving ourselves by offering incentives for those investing in finding the cure (for multiple sclerosis). Let’s focus on eradicating a deadly disease, not the policing the world,” challenges Mattingly.

About Atom Willis:
Atom Willis was just a day dream Adam Mattingly had while sitting next to his sister at a charity event supporting multiple sclerosis research. Following his sister’s MS diagnosis, Mattingly felt compelled to spread the word about lack of government research funding for the disease. He chose to launch a men’s fashion brand that would monetarily support the fight against MS as well as give him a platform to promote social change to help find a cure for MS.

Headquartered out of Austin, Texas, Atom Willis prides themselves on their hands-on approach to business and social change. Each jacket is personally packaged, handled, and shipped by an Atom Willis representative. Adam Mattingly says, “We aren’t a corporation looking to rule the fashion industry, but rather innovators looking to make an impact in the world around us.” For more information on Atom Willis’ fight for funding to support MS research please go to www.atomwillis.com and to view the jacket collection go to www.atomwillisboutique.com.
