Lookout Capital Announces Investment in Raleigh Raleigh, NC, April 03, 2013 –(PR.com)– Lookout Capital, a Raleigh, NC-based firm provider of growth capital and services, announces it has led a preferred equity financing in Raleigh Workshop, Inc, (formerly Raleigh Denim) a designer and manufacturer of premium denim and related casual apparel. Raleigh represents Lookout’s 3rd investment since opening its doors in 2011. At the request of the company, specific investment details are not being publicly disclosed.

“We are really excited about having Raleigh as our newest portfolio company,” said Merrette Moore, Founder and Managing Partner of Lookout Capital, “We have known the company and its founders for nearly 3 years, having developed a great relationship over that time. Raleigh’s progress is very impressive and we look forward to assisting in the company’s continued growth.”

Raleigh is a designer and manufacturer of premium denim and related casual apparel. Based in Raleigh, NC, the company was founded in 2007 in the apartment of its founders, Victor and Sarah Lytvinenko. Raleigh has experienced significant growth since its inception, selling its products through its own retail stores in Raleigh, NC and New York City, numerous Barneys New York, Saks 5th Avenue, and Nordstrom locations, as well as over 60 boutiques worldwide. The company and its products have been prominently featured in numerous high profile publications, including GQ, Vanity Fair, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Elle, Esquire, and Details.

Raleigh has achieved its success by staying true to its principles of producing superior products that exhibit great quality and design. The company’s jeans are hand-made by a team of jeansmiths, crafting jeans from locally produced raw materials using artisanal methods. Raleigh also hand-drafts their patterns in-house as well as cutting sewing all jeans pants in their shop using traditional construction techniques and vintage machinery. The company sources its denim from Cone Denim Mills, one of America’s premier mills, in nearby Greensboro, NC. Each pair of jeans is hand-signed and individually numbered.

“We are thrilled to have Lookout Capital on board as an investor and partner as we look to grow our existing business and offer additional products,” commented Victor Lytvinenko, Co-Founder and CEO of Raleigh, “Lookout’s expertise in helping companies scale business and their strong network will prove valuable to us in both the short and long term.”

As a part of Lookout Capital’s investment, Merrette Moore will join Raleigh’s Board of Directors, serving alongside the company’s two founders. John Kane, an Associate at Lookout Capital, will participate as a Board Observer.

Proceeds from the financing will be used primarily to build out Raleigh’s sales and marketing capabilities, along with helping to scale the company’s infrastructure as it continues to grow.

“Our investment in Raleigh will be utilized to grow the company’s revenue and build the company’s overall business,” commented Merrette Moore. “We feel that the investment and company play well into our model as a growth capital investor and partner.”
