Music Tectonics, the popular beachside conference celebrating music innovation, has revealed its expanded 2024 lineup, now featuring an exciting new Creator Fair. This year’s event promises dynamic panels that unite the brightest minds in the industry to tackle its biggest challenges, trends, and opportunities.
Key panel highlights include:
- License to Generate: Featuring Bill Colitre, Andrew Batey, and Billboard’s Kristen Robinson, this session explores the opportunities for rights holders in AI music and the complexities of this new frontier.
- The State of Music and Gaming: Panelists from Riot Games, Epic Games, and music licensing expert Vickie Nauman discuss the growing synergy between music and gaming, and why it’s seen as a major growth area for labels and artists.
- How to Scale Your Startup: Tracy Maddux, Sun Jen Yung, and Darryl Ballantyne share strategies for growing a music tech startup, focusing on overcoming unique challenges and achieving profitability.
- The Current State of Music Tech Investment: A must-attend panel with Phil Quist of CAA/Connect Ventures, Bruce Hamilton of Everybody Ventures, and Amy LaMeyer of WXR Fund providing insights into the latest investment trends in music tech.
- Bifurcation: The Presidential Debate: Mark Mulligan and Tatiana Cirisano of MIDiA Research debate the future of the music industry, contrasting the traditional streaming-focused model with the rising fandom and creator-centered sector.
The Creator Fair, a new addition to the conference, will showcase innovative music creation tools from companies like Roland, AlphaTheta, and Artiphon, while highlighting how the creator economy is transforming the music business. Attendees will experience hands-on demos and learn from top creators and tool innovators, such as BandLab and Music.AI.
“The music industry is being transformed by young creators who are forging their own paths and reshaping the rules,” says Dmitri Vietze, Music Tectonics’ founder. “This new wave of creativity is creating an alternative industry that runs parallel to the traditional one.”
Supported by companies like Beatdapp, LyricFind, and Mu, the conference offers ample opportunities for networking in a relaxed, beachside setting. “We believe genuine community thrives in inspiring environments, not sterile hotel ballrooms,” explains Shayli Ankenbruck, head of events.
